FAQ
There are many aspects of my personality and skills that cannot be easily conveyed through a resume, so here are some questions I would ask myself if I wanted to capture the full picture of who I am.
What makes your skillset unique?
For my entire life, I've never been able to fit myself into one category. My interests are constantly changing and I pick up new things quickly. My acting experience, which started as doing fall play to kill time in high school, turned into being an actor in a feature film. I have a myriad of other pursuits that have rounded me out as a person. Including but not limited to: writing stories, playing chess, founding a lemonade stand business, and creating a language. All of these and more have fleshed out the unique skills I can bring to the workplace in ways that are different from what I've gained from college and work.
What are some experiences that define you?
I had the unique opportunity growing up to not just travel extensively, but spend significant periods of time living in foreign countries. I've spent a total of two years of my life living abroad in Japan, Barbados, and England. During this time I attended local schools and immersed myself in new cultures. This has given me a broader perspective on the world and my desire to understand and connect people around the globe is what drove me to study Economics.
What's your strongest intangible skill?
I am confident in my intangibles; I consider myself a natural leader and routinely take the lead during discussions and planning. However, what I think makes me a great leader is the level of empathy I have for the reasons people make mistakes or do bad things. In short, I consider myself to be a very understanding person, and I apply this to my leadership. I don't seek to blame others for their shortcomings, I instead seek to understand their shortcomings and recognize the unique perspectives they bring so I can adapt them to my plan of action.
